Foodtech Congress Summary

It was more than just a congress—it was a celebration of food, science, and global collaboration.

The FoodTech 2024 Congress, held in Novi Sad, Serbia, from October 16-18, was a significant gathering of experts and innovators in the field of food science and technology. Kicking off perfectly on World Food Day, the event took place under the inspiring motto: “Science today, technology tomorrow!”

Bringing together 372 participants from 27 countries, the event featured 90 lectures, including 14 thought-provoking plenary talks and 250 poster presentations that engaged attendees and generated significant interest and discussion. Lively roundtable discussions explored technology transfer and the alignment of food regulations, encouraging open dialogue and innovative ideas for the future of food systems.

In addition to the scientific sessions, a special “Sensory Magic” workshop was organized for participants from Serbia. The Congress also featured social events, offering participants an opportunity to network in a relaxed setting. The highlight for many was the Food Fair, where 40 traditional food producers put their tastiest offerings on display.
